Research Opportunities at Coire Glas

Coire Glas represents a rare opportunity for researchers to advance knowledge and our understanding of the natural and social world.

SSE Renewables is inviting research proposals from academics at all career stages and from all disciplines, from engineering, business, geography, environmental studies to earth and social sciences.

Examples of this could include but are not limited to; pilot studies, enabling site access and testing, proof of concept studies or support for student research.

Project submissions of all sizes are welcome and flexible funding of up to £20,000 is available to support individual projects. The funding could act to enable future studies and can be used for any direct academic research.

All proposals should follow the below structure and not exceed 1,000 words:

1.     Summary

A brief summary of your proposal intended for an interdisciplinary and/or non-academic audience.

2.     Key question, deliverables and timescales

Overview of key questions you are trying to answer and how Coire Glas can help answer them.

3.     Funding requirements

A brief outline of required cash and in-kind contributions such as site access or SSER staff time.

All proposals will be scored according to their feasibility and how seamlessly the proposed research activities can be integrated into ongoing project activities.
