Celebrating International Women’s Day - Jessica Smith: Our top woman in Ground Engineering

Ground Engineering have issued a special edition of their magazine announcing the top 20 most inspiring women working in ground engineering today as nominated by their peers.

We’re delighted that our very own Jessica Smith, Senior Engineering Geologist and Technical Authority, is named as one of the Top 20 Women in Ground Engineering.

The top 20 includes women from many different industries and walks of life, from professors, lecturers, directors, engineers, and project managers, who all share one thing in common: they’re all trailblazers! Each of the women included are working to create a better, more inclusive and sustainable ground engineering sector.

Jessica Smith, who joined the Engineering Centre team from Atkins in May 2022, said: “What an honour to be included as part of an incredible group of women in Ground Engineering Magazine’s list of the top 20 inspirational women in ground engineering!

“This list only scratches the surface as the ground engineering sector has many talented women who I look up to and have had the benefit of working with over the years.

“Here’s to a future where many more women and other underrepresented groups enjoy fulfilling careers in ground engineering!”
